LEADERSHIP

The Chief Executive Officer of the Napa Valley Expo is Corey J. Oakley. He is responsible for the day to day operations of the Expo, including operations, personnel, finance, business development, compliance and strategic planning. The RV Park, Facility Rentals and the annual Napa Town and Country Fair are under his direction.

Giancarlo Altamura,30, was appointed to the 25th District Agricultural Association, Napa Valley Exposition Board of Directors. Giancarlo was born and raised in Napa and attended Justin-Siena high school. After high school he lived and attended college at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and got his bachelors degree in Wine and Viticulture. With this degree he works at his family's winery Altamura in Napa. During his younger years in Napa he was heavily involved in 4-H and raised animals for 10 years at the Napa Town & Country Fair and enjoyed every minute of it.

John F. Dunbar Director

John F. Dunbar retired from elected public service in Yountville, CA, on December 6, 2022, after serving 12 years as Mayor and 18 years total on the Yountville Town Council. As Mayor, Dunbar was active in the League of California Cities starting in 2005 and served on the Board of Directors from 2016-2022, including a term as President of the statewide local government advocacy organization in 2019-2020. He was a member of the Cal Cities North Bay Division for 18 years, served on the Division Executive Committee from 2010-2022 and Division president from 2011–2012. During the public health crisis and economic recovery related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Dunbar represented Cal Cities, the County of Napa and the Town of Yountville in strategic recovery operations at the national, state and local levels. Mayor Dunbar also was a member of the National League of Cities and the U.S. Conference of Mayors. In 2012, California Governor Jerry Brown appointed Dunbar to the 25th District Agricultural Association, Napa Exposition and Fair Board of Directors. He served as President from 2016-2021 and continues as a Director. At the local level, Mayor Dunbar was engaged in numerous regional and county-wide boards and commissions including the Yountville Tourism Improvement District — Local Governing Committee, Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, Napa Valley Transportation Authority, Napa County Climate Action Committee, Napa County League of Governments, Napa County Agricultural Protection Advisory Committee, MCE Board of Directors and the Association of Bay Area Governments. Since 2010, Dunbar has co-organized and co-chaired Napa County’s annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease in Yountville. He also is a Board member of The Pathway Home nonprofit veteran treatment program. A native of Oakland, CA, Dunbar has been a Yountville resident since 1998. He received a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of California, Davis. He retired in 2013 from the University of California, Berkeley, where he worked in the Athletics Department.

In addition to be being named 2018 Power Broker for three area counties, Michael has served on several Napa Valley boards and commissions over the years, including being appointed by former Governor Brown to Napa Town & Country Fair Board. Michael has also earned the highly respected Certified Commercial Investment Manager (CCIM) designation, awarded to those who have completed advanced coursework in financial and market analysis while also demonstrating an extensive portfolio of completed investment sales transactions.

Thomas Trzesniewski, of Napa, was appointed to the 25th District Agricultural Association, Napa Valley Exposition Board of Directors in June of 2013. Tom has been involved with many organizations and fundraisers over the years. He was previously a member of Friends of the Napa River and the City of Napa Planning Commission from 1998 through December of 2016. Tom worked in the meat industry for 34 years, owned and operated Box Office and Ranch Video for eleven years and was the first to start a baseball card vending machine business. He entered the wine industry after retiring in 2003 and joined the team at Bremer Family Winery in July of 2011 as the General Manager. Tom is a native Napan who grew up picking plums in late summer to make money for school. He enjoyed red wine in his early twenties and started collecting. Tom loves to play golf, fish and serve his community.

Jose Hurtado Vice President

Jose is a life long resident of Napa Valley. Graduated for St. Helena High School. Attended and graduated from Napa Valley College, the University of California, Davis and has a Masters from California State University, Sacramento. Appointed to the Board in November of 2014. Has worked at Napa Valley College for over thirty (30) years as a counselor. Jose was elected to the Napa Valley Unified School District board in 2004 and is still serving. Jose is a member of Community Action Napa Valley board and was elected Chair in January of 2014. In the past, He has served on many boards and worked with agencies that addressed the need of the most vulnerable and needing members of our community.

Jeri Hansen Board President

Jeri Hansen is the President & CEO of the Napa Chamber of Commerce. As the membership organization for business, the Chamber promotes our community’s economic vitality and quality of life through leadership development, advocacy, facilitation, and education. Most recently, she was Principal at Jeri Hansen Company, specializing in community engagement, public policy, and strategic planning. Prior to starting her own firm in 2020, Jeri was CEO of Sustainable Napa County a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization that started in 2007 as an initiative of the Gasser Foundation to focus on energy, climate and natural resource policy and programs in Napa County. Before taking the reins of Sustainable Napa County, she was Public Affairs Manager for the Napa Valley Vintners. She was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to the Napa Valley Exposition (25th District Agricultural Association) Board of Directors in 2014 and is currently President of the Board. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Redwood Credit Union, which serves nearly 400,000 members in the North Bay region. She is Immediate Past-Chair of the Workforce Alliance of the North Bay, a Joint Powers Authority of Napa, Lake, Marin and Mendocino Counties focusing on workforce and economic development efforts and programs. Jeri served as a member of the Napa County Planning Commission for four and a half years, appointed in September 2015, and served as the Chair of the Commission in 2017. Jeri is Past-Chair of the Board of the Napa Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of Leadership Napa Valley (LNV) Class 15. Her other professional and management experience includes serving as founding Executive Director of the Lodi Conference and Visitors Bureau, a public-private partnership between the City of Lodi and the Lodi-Woodbridge Winegrape Commission. Prior to that she served as Program Director for the San Joaquin Farm Bureau. Jeri is Past-State President of California Women for Agriculture, the state’s largest all volunteer agriculture organization and served for six years as a member of the University of California President’s Advisory Commission for the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources. In 2017 she was recognized by California State Senator Bill Dodd as Senate District 3 Woman of the Year for Napa County. In 2008, she was named one of North Bay Business Journal’s Forty Under 40. In 2007 she was awarded the Common Threads Award recognizing women in agriculture who are also active in philanthropic and community service. Jeri enjoys traveling, especially exploring the beauty of her own community and region; gardening; photography; golfing (badly); reading; entertaining; a variety of music genres and concerts; and spending time with her partner, John and their families, friends, and their Australian Cattle Dogs Zoey and Lexi.
